Home Run: Allied Escape and Evasion in World War II

Greetings! As a budding author, I thought my first blog should be about my first book. In it, is a 'soup to nuts' treatment of Escape and Evasion in World War II. I hope you will enjoy the book. It was a two-year labor of love.

A review by Russell K Brown in the Winter 2023 Edition of The Journal of America's Military Past says, "Simkin has produced a fine, workman-like examination of all aspects of American and Commonwealth E&E operations in World War II, using published and digital sources where he can find them. His narrative is enlivened by colorful evasion or rescue stories gleaned from veterans’ reminiscences. It is not his fault that there is so little available in official records on the American side; the British deserve credit that so much of the legacy of their MI9 organization has been preserved and declassified. Simkin has made the most of what he could find, and we are in his debt for opening up this esoteric sideshow of the war for our information and education. This book has the endorsement of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA)."

Casemate Publishers were so wonderful to work with during the entire process. From designing the cover art (below) to the final editing, they were superb. Many thanks! #HomeRun #CasematePublishers #HowardsBlogspot
